Globe targets to launch 5G roaming services in Oman, China, Japan, Taiwan, Macao, North America, and select European countries like Belgium and Luxembourg within the second quarter of 2021 in its continuous quest to provide 5G connectivity.
“While travel remains on hold for the time being, Globe continues to be aggressive with its 5G roaming expansion to ensure that we’re always a step ahead of our customers’ needs. Globe will continue to innovate so our customers will be first to experience the many benefits of 5G,” said Coco Domingo, Globe’s Vice President for Postpaid and International Business.
Globe’s 5G Roaming service will not be limited to customers traveling out of the Philippines as foreign travelers visiting will also get to enjoy the 5G technology by Globe.
This year, Thailand and UAE are the latest additions to Globe’s global 5G network expansion. Globe is currently partnered with other telco partners, including Ooredoo in Kuwait and Qatar, SK Telecom in South Korea, and CSL in Hong Kong.
In the Philippines, Globe 5G is available in 1,253 locations nationwide.
